A walk by the river...

Hello,

A walk by the river Exe, which flows through our lovely city of Exeter, is always a treat and only 5 minutes from the city centre. The area has been regenerated in recent years with lots of cafes, artisan shops, water sports and we can now cycle by the river, all the way to the sea at Exmouth, 10 miles away...

I used to live within walking distance of Exeter Quay, where all the cafes and shops are, but now live on the other side of the city and miss evening strolls and early morning hikes - it's not the same when I have to drive for 20 minutes first...

But I still love to walk along the river...down one side and across the suspension bridge, then back up the other side to sit and drink Italian hot chocolate and watch the world go by...

an oasis in the middle of the city...

Where do you like to walk?
Thanks for stopping by.

Okay, I'm jealous! I would have loved to have swapped places with you today. I have been shut in a room with no windows looking at every child's English book in school

Lesley, thank you for taking us on your walk! How gorgeous a spot..and those clouds look like they were filled with rain.

I love the colours of the buildings and the view you have as you walk.

When I'm up for it I love to go to the Beach area in Toronto and walk along the boardwalk...I just love being near water!

Wonderful pictures Lesley, thank you for sharing.

Your walk sounds like a perfect pastime to me although I'll have an espresso.......I drink far too many most days, my Italian machine is my luxury item, but they keep me going.

Bless you Lesley you have made me quite homesick reading your post and looking at your pics. It's a long time since I was there, think my eldest was around 4 at the time and he is now 27!! Thank you for the nostalgic trip down memory lane.

Your walk sounds lovely, Lesley and I especially like the hot chocolate bit!!!! Your scenery looks beautiful but compared to what I look at out of the window it looks very flat. It's funny how the countryside varies so wildly in our small country isn't it.
