Here's another design I'm adding to my 'to sell' stash (it's growing slowly lol)...
Kraft Card again. I made a dozen.
I painted some french text from an old book with watered cream acrylic and when dry cut it into pieces and stamped this lovely bird design (by Cavallini) on each piece in Jet Black Archival Ink. The birds were then mounted onto black card and I attached a piece of french lace, (bought in France last summer), to the side, before punching tiny holes around the edge with a pin then sticking it to the front of the card...
I really like this one...it was fun and easy to make...
We recently took our Grandson, Jack, to Dartmoor Zoo. This is a very small Zoo and was very run down a few years ago but was then bought by Benjamin Mee and his family and they have turned it around. It now has a major research programme in animal breeding and is recruiting students for the programme. Benjamin Mee wrote a book about his experiences and it was turned into a film Starring Matt Damon called 'We bought a Zoo' which was released last December.
Now the Zoo is looking much brighter - new fencing and better enclosures. They now have over 200 animals from tiny insects to majestic Lions, Wolves, Monkeys, Meerkats etc and it is set in 30 acres of gorgeous parkland on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, just an hours drive from us.
My favourite animal in all the world is the Tiger and the Zoo has 3!!! It was feeding time when we were there and I was in awe as this huge male came down to drink from the river just a few metres from us....
Look at the size of his tongue...and the ripples in the water...
...of course Jack and Ed has to show their tongues then (sigh)...
...the meerkats were adorable, and were very fluffy in their winter coats...
...there was an excellent falconry display in the afternoon but this peacock tried to take centre stage and had to be chased off several times lol!...I said to Jack - 'Point to the Peacock....'
Thanks for stopping by.
