Ready to join in the Party...........
Remember my lady with flowers from last week inspired by the gorgeous painting by Heather Foust which you can see here.....
Well my interpretation is now finished......
Remember where I had got to last week?
....well I wasn't happy just having the flowers...they seemed to lack definition so I decided to paint over each one and then to paint in extra flowers and foliage....
...and then I just started doodling and defining.........until I realised it was finished...
...I suddenly realised that this girl was feeling sad for some reason so added a tear.........
So thank you once again Heather for the inspiration.
Inspiration from other people is really important to me. I really struggle to have original ideas but if I see something that captures my imagination then I can run with it and try to interpret it in my own way. I've always been like this. Does anyone else struggle with this.....I hope it is not just me.
So thank you to everyone who shares their art - of all kinds - so that people like me can be inspired to have a go. 3 or 4 years ago I was making greeting cards and that was it - even stamping was a scary prospect...but with the generosity of heart of those who are willing to share, particularly on utube and vimeo and in their own blogs, I have learned how to do so much and appreciate it more than can be put into words here.
Thank you once again for taking the time to visit. I really appreciate that too. Encouragement is necessary to all of us.
If you have the time - why not take a hop over to Paint Party Friday hosted by Eva and Kristin, and take a look at some amazing artists and their work.....I'm off to do that right now!
I am also linking this to this week's Inspiration Avenue Challenge - Primavera
Happy Weekend.

Lesley, this is a stunner!! I hope you are going to display it somewhere proudly...
Have a great weekend. (Mine involves the decorating that was put off last weekend so I envisage being exhaused by the time Sunday comes round...!)
Hello Lesley so happy to have come upon your lovely blog and your beautiful work. Great to see the evolution as you added detail.
Continue to be inspired, we all need support of some sort and sharing is what I love about blogging and meeting up here on paint party Friday, so enjoy the party!
Great work....just right for Spring... :)
Wonderful and a fabulous explosion of expression and colour. I love her!
She's beautiful Lesley! I have to agree with you--my art has grown so much with the help of fellow artists--the support and the help we get is amazing!
I can't get over the difference from last week to this. Totally stunning Lesley. Your vision to paint over the flowers and create more was spot on -- a beautiful garden surrounding the sad woman...but maybe a happy tear because she realizes she is loved.
I think we are all inspired by others...history proves that. Painters studied under masters and learned technique and they were inspired and took those ideas and made them their own. I believe we all do this and there is nothing wrong with being inspired to want to do something similar with our own voice. A complete copy on the other hand is just wrong and there are some who do not have the vision and do just that -- exact replica which isn't flattering at all. Seeing someone else's use of colour or composition is often a great starting point and just think, your work may be inspiring someone else. xo
Wow!She's fabulous, your flowers are amazing. xx
Well done ~ so colorful and creative ~ She is beautiful ~ yes, I struggle with 'originality' as there is really 'nothing new under the sun' ~ Presentation changes and packaging ~namaste, carol (A Creative Harbor) Happy PPF ^_^
Beautiful work Lesley.
You have such detail, and each addition makes the final piece so fun and cheerful. xo
So much depth now. Love it. The doodling seems like stitches and really added a lot. Great job. There is so much art out there that not much is REALLY original 100%. But I believe each artist brings their own style to each piece.
Inspiration from all of my blogger friends is so so imprtant, it helps me grow as an artist!
Your flower girl is over the top AMAZING Lesley! It is grogeous!
Oh wow, Lesley. This is stunning. I love all the painted flowers you've added. She's really gorgeous in her flowery bower.
I agree completely. It's great to bounce ideas off each other and I see so many things that inspire and give me ideas, people are sooooo generous and I know my creativity has really been expanded by all the wonderful people who are happy to share their ideas with others. Long may it continue.
Hugs Lisax
Leslie, she's beautiful! So much detail in every flower! Great job. xoxo
Stunning. She turned out beautifully. Love all the additional flowers and doodling highlights.
Wow! This turned out great! I really love all of the different flowers and textures along with the face and hair in a more subdued palette. It all works great together.
This is stunning! I love where you took it! Thank you for letting us see its process and development!!!
great detail! i love seeing the evolution and the source of the inspiration.
I absolutely love your gorgeous flower girl although I thought it looked great last week anyway. Thank you for what you have written too. I am quite new and don't have the confidence or imagination to be original, but am so inspired to have a go at the amazing things I see others creating. People are so kind and generous sharing their wonderful ideas and it helps make my life amazing.x
Love it! Great job.
Happy PPF!
Wow! I really liked this before, but love it even more now!

I thought she was beautiful before. But WOW!! I love what you have done with her. She looks amazing. I have to say I am the same way. I get my inspiration from so many other sources also. Don't you just love all the inspiration that is out there. I find inspiration right here on your blog!! Happy PPF!
this is just so wonderful at every stage, but the final piece is just stunning... great work with colour, pattern and capturing a great mood as well... this is my favourite piece that you have done... just sooo lovely...xx
Visiting from IA--What an incredible amount of detail, color, and dimension you achieved in this piece! I love it!
oh fab work here! I can see her inspiration but it is yours, completely. Nice job!
Wow...the difference from last week to this is amazing. And yes, it was great last week, but now it's just gorgeous.
This artistic community that has grown up here is such a fantastic source of inspiration. Not everyone is lucky enough to have creative people around them in their daily lives, but now there is nothing stopping us from reaching out and finding people who really get what it is that drives us to create.
Feels like she is lost in paradise. Just B E A U T I F U L!!!
Oh, adding the flowers and the tear was perfect. Wonderful work! Happy PPF! Helen @ Natures Walk
Gorgeous, Leslie! I love how you kept layering on the details. I have the same problem you mentioned, coming up with original ideas. The art challenges are a great way to get inspiration and then compare what everyone came up with. So much fun! :)
Loving your finished lady! I especially love her polka dot flower!
Really nice submission. She definitely brings Spring!
Kim From IA!
Love tbis soooo much!!!
darling! happy ppf!
I thought she looked good last week, but now....
Well, what an amazing difference! It just goes to show that we need to listen to our Muse when she whispers that there is work still to do and she nudges your hand back towards that paintbrush.
Didn't somebody like Picasso say that all the original ideas had gone and all that's left is our own interpretation? I love how sometimes the smallest thing from another person's work can set your mind and brush on a journey to unique to you.
wowzer this is just amazing!!! I love how you have finished it off!! perfection! Hugs Juls
Very cheerful, even if she's crying.
The only thing with getting too inspired with the work of other, is making sure that the other person knows and it's ok with it, (particularly if the person is still walking around us! lol)so you don't get in trouble.
With time, you will bring your own flavor and make it your own.
I love the inclusion of all the flowers. I didn't see the tear until the close-up. Blessings, Janet PPF
This is so beautiful. I love the way you kept working on it until you were satisfied. And it turned out amazingly. Thank you for sharing your process.
Visiting from Inspiration Avenue.
